The Camp J staff are loving, fun, and energetic!

They work tirelessly to create a vibrant and exciting community rooted in Jewish values, and they model for our campers what it means to be confident, caring, and compassionate.

Our hiring process is competitive, enabling us to hire the very best experienced team to care for our campers each summer.

Before campers arrive, our staff participate in at least a full week of on-site staff training, learning and practicing the skills needed to ensure success for each individual camper.

We also devote plenty of time to building our team, because the close-knit community of our staff is the foundation of our incredible Camp J culture each summer.

MEET OUR STAFF

Sarah – Camp Director

Sarah is thrilled to be the Camp Director here at Camp J. From her first summer at sleepaway camp when she was 10, she has loved everything that camp has to offer – from the fun activities, to making friendship bracelets, to showing spirit during color war, to the lasting friendships and memories – camp has been her happy place. Sarah not only spent many summers going to camp, but spent many summers working at camp, from being a bunk counselor to a unit head – she has done it all! Sarah has a Bachelor’s degree in Business from SUNY Buffalo and a Master’s in Education from the College of Saint Rose. Prior to starting at The Roth Family JCC, she was the Camp Program Director and later Youth and Teen Director at The Bender JCC of Greater Washington and was the Assistant Camp Director at The Stamford JCC. Sarah is excited to be in Florida where it doesn’t snow and is warm year-round, and enjoys baking, trying out new restaurants, and reading books from the library.

AMANDA – Camp PROGRAM Director

Amanda is thrilled to work at Camp J for a second summer! She is excited to be part of all the fun that camp will be. Amanda was our art camp specialist last summer and she is excited to be taking on a new role this summer as our Program Director. She has been working with children for 15 years and has a degree in early childhood education. In her free time, she loves to do anything involving water – from swimming to fishing and everything in between. Amanda also enjoys crafting and creating things. Her favorite part of the summer is all the games, special events, and the sunny Florida weather. Most importantly Amanda loves the lasting memories and relationships that are created at camp.
