Classic Camp J Programs

Our age-specific programs were built from the ground up to inspire campers to grow personally, socially, and emotionally through projects and play that can only happen at camp!

Camp J Culture

Walking through the hallways of Shalom Orlando while Camp J is in full swing, it’s not unusual to hear the sounds of familiar cheers from our morning opening ceremonies echoing down the hall, or kids buzzing about their next field trip. You might see an older Tayarim camper visiting their younger sibling and their friends in Yeladim. You might see campers practicing for Lip Sync or guessing what team they’ll be on for Color War. There’s so much to do at Camp J, but what makes us special is that our programs were created with community-building in mind.

Classic Camp J Activities Include...

Swim

Campers in grades K-2 engage in daily instructional AND free swim. Older campers (in 3rd grade and above, including specialty campers) receive daily free swim.

Creative Arts

Campers will have the opportunity to use their imagination and creativity to express themselves every week in activities like Drama, Art, and Music.

Athletics

Camp J offers a wide variety of sports for campers to enjoy, including soccer, tennis, basketball, and gaga. Plus, we offer more opportunities to soak up the sun on our Zoom Floom!

Special Events

From dress-up days where campers can showcase their creativity to exciting field trips that align with the theme of the week, our special events make every week at Camp J truly unforgettable for campers.

Camp J Programs

At every age, campers engage in fun, experiential programs in stimulating indoor and outdoor environments. The Camp J experience provides programming that brings out the best in every camper and fosters skills they will use for the rest of their lives!

Kindergarten: Gesher

Our youngest campers will be integrated into our K-4 classrooms at Shalom Orlando’s Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC). They will be cared for by our pre-k professionals who will seamlessly bridge campers from the preschool environment to a camp setting. Gesher campers get all of the fun of Camp J while maintaining the familiarity of the ECLC.

1-2 Grade: Rishonim

First and second graders will engage in a variety of activities, including daily instructional and free swim, sports, music, arts & crafts, IsraelI connections, teva (nature), drama, and dance. Second graders are encouraged to explore new areas and gain more independence by attending field trips.

3-4 Grade: Chaverim

Campers engage in classic camp activities, including daily free swim, sports, music, arts & crafts, Israeli connections, teva (nature), drama, and dance, as well as the opportunity to choose electives for one period during the day. Campers also participate in late stays and overnights. Campers will engage in field trips specially curated to create memories that will last all year long.

5-9 Grade:
Tayarim

As the oldest campers, Tayarim are given more opportunities to pave their own path through camp. This includes elective periods throughout the day, leadership experiences, community service, and more classic camp activities that they love. Tayarim have overnights throughout the summer and chances to explore Central Florida on field trips just for them.
